MARC JOHNSON - LILJEVALCHS KONSTHALL

14.06 > 18.08.2024

On 14 June, this summer 's major exhibition Stockholm's Cosmology opens at Liljevalchs. The exhibition puts a spotlight on the question of the forces and experiences that enrich Stockholm's art scene.

Stockholm's cosmology brings together 14 artists that fill the entire Liljevalchs Bergstenshus. Several of the artists have moved from other cities to Stockholm and others have studied outside the country's borders. Global contexts, history and recycled materials make up a large part of the artists' starting points in the exhibition. A variety of artistic methods and materials come together here, all of which testify to the wealth of experiences that flow to, through and out of Stockholm.

"Stockholm's cosmology will contribute to a greater understanding of an art scene that is as dynamic as it is fragmented, but above all, the exhibition wants to inspire a bolder city where the differences between artistry and art scenes can be seen as an advantage rather than a threat," says Joanna Sandell Wright, artistic director and director, Liljevalchs.

The exhibition features artists Ailin Mirlashari, Anna Camner, Ayan Farah, Laercio Redondo and Birger Lipinski, Cecilia Ömalm and Göran Östlin, Marc Johnson, Martin Gustavsson, Muhammad Ali, Munish Wadhia, Olof Inger, J.G. Arvidsson, Santiago Mostyn and Susanna Marcus Jablonski (in dialogue with Anders Årfelt).
